A Business account is designed for businesses who need to accept money on a very regular basis. This account can use any payment method and the full range of integration methods and features.

• Intended for: eCommerce sites, large online traders, businesses accepting large sums of money online etc.
• Requirements: Name, Email Address, ID Number, South African Bank Account, Postal Address, Physical Address, Company Name, Company Registration Number

A Cause account is for registered NPOs (Non Profit Organisations) to aid them in fundraising by accepting donations online. This account comes with vastly reduced fees as well as a cause page hosted by PayFast.

• Intended for: Registered NPOs who wish to expand their fundraising capability.
• Requirements: Name, Email Address, ID Number, South African Bank Account, Postal Address, Physical Address

A Premier account is intended for use by individuals (traders, sole proprietors etc.) who need to accept money from customers and is able to accept credit card payments. This account can use any payment method and the full range of integration methods and features.

• Intended for: Online traders, market stall owners, shops without an eCommerce site wanting to accept payments online etc.
• Requirements: Name, Email Address, ID Number, South African Bank Account, Postal Address, Physical Address

A Personal account is for regular users who need to pay online stores and other merchants for goods or services as well as receive a limited amount of money for goods or services as well.

• Intended for: Users wanting to send and receive money online
• Requirements: Name, Email Address, ID Number, South African Bank Account, Postal Address

A Basic account is intended for users who will only be sending money online and not receiving. You need not register specifically for this account, as you can register during your first payment via PayFast.

• Intended for: Anyone who wants to send money or pay for items online
• Requirements: Name, Email Address
