PayFast
What is PayFast
PayFast is a payments collection service for South Africans and South African websites. We make it safe for buyers to send money and easy for sellers to receive money.
We charge no setup or monthly fees! Only per-transaction fees.
What payment methods do you offer?
PayFast offers payment by the following methods:
As a eCommerce store owner or online seller, it is best to offer as many payment methods as possible and let your customers choose how they wish to pay.
We make this possible by bringing together multiple payment methods through one system: PayFast.
How does it all work?
From your website, clients are directed to PayFast for payment. They choose how they wish to pay, make payment and are then redirected back to your site.
We have to know who uses PayFast, so require users to register, but we only need a name, surname and email address, so registration is really easy (and we even pre-populate the form if the merchant already has the info).
As a receiver, your money accumulates in your PayFast account and we transfer it to your bank account at your request.
We only charge fees to receive money and only Premier or Business account holders get charged. There are no upfront or fixed costs to speak of. We're nice that way ;-)
Do you support shopping cart systems?
Yes, PayFast can be integrated with pretty much any shopping cart system or online order management system.
We have developed a number of these modules ourselves, which are available for download on our shopping carts page.
What do I need to use PayFast?
As a receiver, you can register online and we require:
- your name and surname,
- a form of identification (SA ID or Passport),
- details of a South African bank account (so we can pay you),
- a mobile number,
- a postal address, and
- a physical address (for Premier and Business accounts).
Where do I sign up?
Personal, Premier and Business accounts are capable of receiving payments.
