South Africa’s inaugural eCommerce Conference was, by most measures, a runaway success. The organisers quickly found out that they had to double the amount of seats due to the high demand to see speakers from Google, Yuppychef, Mxit and yes, PayFast for a day that consisted of everything related to eCommerce.
This year, they increased the size of the venue (despite this, it looks like it is going to sell out yet again) and got a very impressive lineup of local and international speakers, including those from Google, Woolworths, Groupon, bidorboy, Shopify, takealot.com and industry heavyweights like Arthur Goldstruck. The winners of the South African eCommerce Awards for the various categories — best website, best customer service, best mobile site, best usability etc. — will also be named at the event.
Some more reasons to attend:
- Keep up to date with the latest trends in eCommerce
- Network with other people in the industry
- Winners of the eCommerce Awards to be announced
- Lunch and refreshments are included
- There will be some prize giveaways
Feedback showed that there is a big demand for workshops (and for, ahem, the event to be held in Cape Town instead), so the organisers added workshops in both Johannesburg and the Mother City on the days leading up to the event, for those who want to get their hands dirty. Topics include:
- Google Adwords & Analytics
- SEO & Social media
- Point of sale
Attendance to either of the the workshops will set you back R950, the eCommerce Conference R1450 and combo-tickets are going at R1950.
A few of us will be in attendance at the event, if you’re interested in meeting up, reach out to us @PayFast.
