Standard Bank discontinued the mimoney service at the end of December 2012, and has been phasing it out gradually in favour of its new Instant Money service. mimoney vouchers are no longer being issued and all existing mimoney vouchers have been (or will be) converted to Instant Money vouchers.
We’re happy to announce that you can now process and purchase mimoney with PayFast. mimoney is a mobile payment method, supported by Standard Bank, which enables you to make online transactions without the need for a debit/credit card or even a bank account.
mimoney has partnered with over 20 big stores (including TAKEALOT, Look & Listen, Incredible Connection and Mr Delivery) which all currently accept the currency. In addition to these, online shoppers can now use this digital currency at the thousands (and counting) of PayFast merchants.
