The Senekal-based non-profit organization. Engo Family Care in the Eastern Free State province of South Africa is an organization with a long history of making a difference. Since opening its doors in 1957 it has succeeded in being a powerful instrument of upliftment in the community in which it operates, but due to economic hardships and government cutbacks on aid, the organization is now faced with a battle for survival. The lives and well-being of literally thousands of people are at stake. An amount of at least R300 000 is needed just to survive the current financial year.
The organization’s core aim is to maintain specific projects such as combating HIV/AIDS programs, emergency feeding schemes, elderly care, prevention, and early intervention services to children and families.
The request from the organization is to ask donors to support them and become the custodians of the center for a period of time. The management believes in a transparent approach and clean governance, and all donations are accounted for and channelled into specific projects.
