Hand to hand foundation implements empowerment projects in marginalised communities. The organisation works in township communities through a waste management project-The Green and Healthy Income Project. This project creates employment opportunities for young men and women using the environment as a means of enabling self-sufficiency. Through this project beneficiaries are trained in waste management and environmental practices and organised into cooperatives that collect recyclable material. The cooperatives then sell collected recyclable material for resale enabling them to earn an income.
Hand to Hand Foundation also trains in Information, Communication technology and is accredited by MICTSETA. Through this project, the organisation also targets marginalised communities in townships and provides ICT training which provides people with an opportunity to become employed or to become entrepreneurs.
The organisation also donates food and school supplies to children from marginalised communities in need of such.
