Abraham Kriel Childcare provides both residential care and community services and focuses on providing shelter, care and rehabilitation for children between the ages of birth and 18 years old, who have been subjected to trauma, abuse, molestation, poverty and neglect.
Currently AKC operates 22 (incl. baby unit) houses for children and carries out 6 community care programmes that provide food, shelter, pastoral care, remedial care, social services, skills development services and early childhood development.
Our activities include:
- Care for a normal home setup for abused, molested, abandoned and neglected children. This is the main goal of our organisation.
- Offer support to children whose lives have been ruined by Aids. Our organisation is growing rapidly in this regard.
- Early childhood development and outreach programmes to disadvantaged communities with the aim of preventing the collapse of families.
In all our approaches we are connected to long term, comprehensive care which touches and strengthens all our children, so that they have the opportunity to lead productive and fulfilling lives.
