BEAR Foundation

BEAR Foundation is a young women’s mentorship programme aimed at empowering young deserving South African women from previously disadvantaged backgrounds by developing strategies for their education, personal development and future progress. The programme has takes a maximum of 50 girls from various township schools with a potential growth of more candidates joining the programme from year to year as since 2012 . The girls are selected through a screening process whereby application forms are distributed to the selected schools, girls between ages 13-25 years are required to complete them with their personal details and furnish it with an assay of 500 words as to why they think they should be part of the programme. Being young, female and passionate about the upbringing of women and the youth as a whole ensures that our approach remains empathetic, skills enhancing and relevant to the young women, adolescent girls and the youth we serve.
