Helderberg Hospice

Helderberg Hospice was founded in 1986 as a Section 21 Company (Assoc. not for gain). It is a life-enhancing support system intended to promote quality of life. Hospice cares for patients suffering from Cancer, HIV/AIDS (and related illnesses), degenerative Neurological Disorders, Cystic Fibrosis and end-stage organ failure. Hospice affirms life and regards dying as a part of life and seeks neither to hasten nor to postpone death. Patients are encouraged to live full and comfortable lives through the management of pain and symptom control support for all aspects of their being, physical, emotional, mental and spiritual.
Our organisation is the only one of its kind in our area, which provides specialised Hospice care to the terminally ill. Nursing care is delivered by a well trained palliative care interdisciplinary team where the interests of the patient and family are our first concern.
