HOLY CHILDHOOD SCHOOL

The Covid-19 pandemic has been devastating for the whole world. Unfortunately, for our little school in Eshowe, Kwazulu-Natal, this has been exceptionally devastating. Our school relies heavily on fundraising from the Parent Fundraising Committee, which you or your parents might have served on. The committee aims to host 3 big events, and a few smaller events, during the course of the year to raise in the region of R180 000 for the school. These events are generally based on large gatherings which are currently not permitted. This R180 000 feeds into our annual budget, allowing us to live out the school motto of providing a quality education to children from all walks of life at an extremely affordable rate.

Without the funds raised, we find ourselves in a financial deficit. The school has made many difficult decisions in order to reduce expenses and this has mainly been to the cost of the very dedicated teachers.

Please help us by pledging a donation to the school. We are appealing to old pupils and those who have lived in Eshowe or are still in Eshowe, as well those who know educators at the school or have family living in Eshowe. If you have met or been taught by the Sisters of the Holy Childhood Convent you will appreciate the sacrifice they made in providing a quality education to children of all races right through the heart of the apartheid years. The memories you have of your time at the school are sure to be ones that you will never forget.

The Holy Childhood School is a registered Public Benefit Organisation (PBO) with the South African Revenue Service (SARS) and enjoys S18A status which permits the issuing of donation tax certificates to South African tax payers for all donations over R500. Donations made in excess of R5000.00 will receive a gold plaque on our exclusive HCS Alumni Club board.

We appeal for your assistance in ensuring the legacy of the Holy Childhood Sisters continues for many years.
