Joburg Child Welfare

Jo'burg Child Welfare is a non-profit organisation caring for abused, abandoned, neglected, orphaned and vulnerable children for 100 years. Over that time we have increased our services to deal with a myriad of issues facing our children, their families and communities.

Jo'burg Child Welfare relies heavily on the generosity of individuals to help them to bring hope and purpose to the lives of children in our care.

Our services and projects include a day care centre that assists youth and gogo-headed households caring for children who have been orphaned by HIV, a children's home for abused, abandoned and neglected children, an adoption home, foster-care supervision, a life-skills and economic empowerment centre helping young girls and women living on Jo'burg's inner city streets, child protection services and statutory services for children who have been neglected, orphaned, abused or made vulnerable by HIV or AIDS, as well as an active advocacy programme through which we lobby for children's rights within the government.
