VISION: BUILDING LIVES that BUILD a nation.

MISSION: We exist to BRING POSITIVE CHANGE through ACTIVATING THE POTENTIAL and PURPOSE of YOUNG PEOPLE from poorer communities.

ABOUT US

South Africa’s richest resource is it’s people. The last 20 years have seen great change. Free housing, new schools, social grants, free education and empowerment programs and yet we have high crime rates, low employment and a general disintegration of a healthy family structure. We believe that it is not one’s background that determines how far we go in life but rather our character and the ability to navigate the circumstances we are facing in a healthy, constructive manner.

The Linc Foundation believes in a better future for our nation by developing programs, projects and key partnerships that work together to BUILD BIG people. We call these our CHANNELS OF CHANGE.

OUR CHANNELS FOR CHANGE:

ADVANCE (Target age group 18 to 30 years old)

South Africa is a country full of potential. We are overcoming a challenging past which has left a generation of young people without a secure home environment or role models to recognize/ encourage individual identity and potential in life. The human mind is a powerful thing. We believe that a persons future is not determined by their past or current circumstances but by what they set their mind to and choose to strengthen / a change of mindset.

Our programs focus on the provision of tools and interactive teaching that promote emotional health and personal growth such as self awareness, vision and goal setting, overcoming challenges, healthy communication and personal management.

TALK TO ME (Target age group 7 to 18years)

We are passionate about South African children having a better future. Many of the children in our country are dealing with incredibly stressful life situations on a day to day basis. Absent or deceased parents, domestic violence, rape, neglect, starvation, and poverty are some of the many challenges their young minds are faced with. Trauma of any kind has a negative effect on both emotional and physical growth and a child reaching his or her true potential.

We believe that having a safe space for children to share their stories and be equipped with skills to process trauma is a crucial part of helping them move towards a better future.
The Linc Foundation is committed to training Zulu speaking lay counsellors who have both a love for children and the competency to help them in these challenging situations.

FOUNDATION FOOTY

We believe that the soccer field can be a platform to invest into a young person’s life.

Soccer is more than just participating in a game. It can be the only picture of “family” that a child may have. A good coach speaks direction, purpose and courage into their players. He or she has the potential to call out the best in a child. Being a part of a team gives a sense of value and the individual role played, a sense of purpose.

Our Foundation Footy initiative is all about investing into children’s lives whilst they play. We equip existing soccer coaches in the communities with both mentoring and playing skills with the purpose of releasing their unique potential and in turn the children they lead.
