MOSAIC Kids

MOTHERS OF SOUTH AFRICA IN COMMUNITY (MOSAIC) is a community sewing project, which gives hope to unemployed and unskilled women with young children, by taking them off the streets and teaching them to sew. We provide all the equipment, training and tools, food and childcare while they learn and pay them to learn. During their training they get a subsistence allowance and thereafter they get paid per garment. They make the most beautiful designer children's clothing, including fairy dresses, princess dresses, pyjamas, dancing clothes and every day funky cotton clothing, including jeans, tops, skirts, dresses and co-ordinates. After training is complete, they get their own machines and set up their own businesses sewing from their homes in their communities with our support, making space for new trainees in the programme
