Pevensey Place Association

Pevensey Place is situated in the farming community of Underberg in KwaZulu Natal. It was officially opened by a joint venture between Round Table South Africa and the Natal Cerebral Palsy Association in 1972. Pevensey is a care-based facility for cerebral palsy adults, you have to be over the age of 18 to be admitted. There are 76 residents in total from the ages of 23-84 years. Pevensey’s unique and rural setting, makes it an ideal place for the residents to learn about animals, farming, nature and home-craft. All the residents are expected to do some form of work in the day to day runnings of Pevensey within their capabilities. The close knit community of Underberg is actively involved at Pevensey and in the lives of the residents. Residents are encouraged to participate in many social gatherings and activities. The organisation as a whole is run by an elected committee with a support team of 30 staff members.
