Puku Childrens Literature Foundation

Did you know that only 2% of all books published in SA are in an African language? And a mere 8% of our public schools have a library? These alarming statistics call for urgent investment in multilingual literacy. This is why Professor Mpho Ngoepe has dedicated his 2023 Comrades Marathon run on 11th June to the #RacingForOurLanguages fundraiser to enable Puku and its partners to turbo boost efforts to ensure that all our children get access to books in the languages they need.
