Shark Spotters is a pioneering South African Non-Profit Organisation (060-390 NPO, PBO 930 037 421, BBBEE level 1) that has attracted global attention for its novel approach to managing conflict between people and sharks. It is a unique, socially and environmentally responsible, initiative that protects communities, economies, tourism, and the environment from the negative repercussions of shark bite incidents, creates employment and skills development opportunities for individuals from marginalized communities, and also actively conserves and rehabilitates our marine environment from human-induced impacts.
