St. Michael's Child and Youth Care Centre

The purpose of St Michael’s Child and Youth Care Centre is to provide innovative therapeutic and developmental programmes in a residential environment for 25 young girls between the ages of 13 and 18 years, who have been seriously traumatized and removed from their families for their own protection and safety by an order of the Children’s Court. In this quest, the challenge is for young girls to find creative ways to become independent, self-reliant and confident, and ultimately to go out in the world to cope with the realities of life and, if possible, to reunify with their families and communities of origin.
