The Wentworth Arts and Culture Organisation

We are a Non-Profit Organisation focusing on the development of Arts and Culture within disadvantaged communities.
As an NPO we empower the disadvantaged youth, women, children and people living with disabilities through our artistic programmes in the South Durban Basin Communities like Wentworth, Merebank, Bluff, Umlazi, Montclair and Isipingo.
Arts in Schools Programme - we offer a free service to marginalised schools in the community for further education enhancement to those schools lacking resources for Creative Arts, Personal & Social Well-being and Physical education for the students. The schools that have been involved in this programme are Durban East Primary and Durban South Primary.
Training and development - dance classes for the disadvantaged youth in the community that gets them off the streets and hinders them from indulging in drugs and gangsterism that is rife in the South Durban Communities.
Bursary program - Due to the LSM and the poverty of 90% of our students and beneficiaries we provide bursaries where we can for education at primary, secondary and tertiary level in order for them to obtain education that their parents cannot provide for them.
Special needs disabled training and development program- We provide and give access to the arts and include people living with disabilities, where they have the opportunity for skills development and are employed in the arts sector.
Performance Development - providing a platform for the youth, and all our artists to express and expose their talents through our dance festivals, productions and exhibitions.
